The Redmi K50 series includes the K50i, K50, K50 Pro, and the K50 Gaming Edition. Out of these, only the K50 Gaming Edition is powered by a Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The other three phones are powered by MediaTek chipsets. Soon, one more phone is joining this series, and it is the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition. This will be the most powerful phone in this lineup since it is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, the most powerful chipset by Qualcomm right now.
According to Digital Chat Station, the phone has an under-display fingerprint scanner, something no other phone under the K50 series had so far. In fact, even the Redmi K40 series did not have any phone with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The last time we had one was in 2020 when the Redmi K30 Pro & Redmi K30 Ultra launched with under-display fingerprint readers. So, after two years, the under-display fingerprint scanner is making a return in the Redmi K series.
Well, Redmi is yet to show us what the phone looks like, so apart from the details above, we know nothing about the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition yet. Stay tuned since Redmi likes to share the details before the launch, and we are pretty sure the same will happen with the K50 Extreme Edition.
